Teams are separated into three team flights by the committee. Each foursome is then split into two two-person teams by handicap with the A player on each team being paired with the B player for Match 1 and the C player for Match 2. Each pairing will play two nine-hole matches (net better ball; twosome vs. twosome) against another team within their flight.
Each match has 10 total points up for grabs (1 point per hole plus 1 point for winning the match).
All matches will be nine holes and points will be earned even after the match is closed out. Once the matches are complete, each team’s twosome points are combined for their Day 1 team total.
HANDICAP STROKES
In each match, players will receive strokes according to 90% of their course handicap. Strokes will be awarded for each player based off the lowest player in the match playing as a scratch (0). For nine-hole matches, that difference will then be halved (half strokes inclusive). No handicap strokes will be allocated on par 3s. The maximum number of strokes allocated to a player on any given par 4 or par 5 hole is one (1). Any handicap questions must be raised to the tournament committee prior to the beginning of play.
Each team’s Day 2 twosome pairings will be set by the team captains. Each team will play one eighteen-hole match (net better ball; twosome vs. twosome).
The final match has 20 total points up for grabs (1 point per hole plus 2 points for winning the match).
All matches will be eighteen holes and points will be earned even after the match is closed out.
Once the matches are complete, each team’s Day 1 and Day 2 totals are combined for their total two-day score. The foursome teams with the highest two-day point totals in each flight will be named Flight winner and Flight runner-up and both teams will earn a spot in the Championship Shootout.

WILDCARD TEAM
The one foursome team with the highest Final Match points total (flight winners and runner-up teams excluded) will also earn a wildcard spot into the Championship Shootout so that every team still has a chance to qualify heading into Day 2. If a tiebreaker is needed, the team with the most Day 1 points will be awarded the wildcard spot. A second tiebreaker (if necessary) will be single highest point total in a given match.
The Championship Shootout will consist of seven (7) teams
The shootout will be true alternate shot (gross) format on the 18th hole of Liberty National.
ROUND 1
The three flight winning teams will receive a bye into Round 2.
Two players will represent each of the four remaining teams (flight runner up teams and wildcard team) in Round 1 of the shootout. Each of these four teams will play a shortened 18th hole in true alternate shot format. Teams decide which players will compete in Round 1 and who will tee off.
Three teams will be eliminated after Round 1.
The one team with the lowest score on the 1st shootout hole will move onto Round 2. Ties are broken by a single player putt off (closest to the hole) featuring one of the players who participated in the round.
ROUND 2
Round 2 will consist of the three flight winning teams and the team that advanced out of Round 1. The three flight winning teams decide which two players will compete and who will tee off. The two players who sat out in Round 1 from the team that advanced will compete in Round 2.
Two teams are eliminated after Round 2.
Ties are broken by a single player putt off featuring one of the players that participated in the round.
CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND
The final two (2) teams will face off from the shootout hole. The two players from the two teams who did not participate in Round 2 will compete in the Championship Round with either player teeing off. If there is no tie, then the Champion Team is crowned.
In the event of a tie, a playoff round will take place from the shootout hole featuring the other two players from each of the final two teams. In the event of a tie after the playoff round, a putt off will take place with any one member from each of the final two teams to determine the NEXUS Cup Champions.
The winning team will be crowned NEXUS Cup Champions.
